Annapurna Unnat Chulha consists of a series of high-efficiency, single burner, improved biomass cook stove designed for everyday use. The stoves can be used with any type of solid biomass fuel including, wood, cow dung and agricultural waste. These are available in both domestic and commercial variants. The innovative design produces 70% less smoke and uses 60% less fuel than traditional mud cook stoves. The stoves has high efficiency of 35-40% against 15% of mud cook stoves and 20-25% of natural draft cook stoves. It adds convenience to users lives by reducing the time and money they must spend collecting or buying fuel and allowing for a more comfortable cooking experience. This has been designed in collaboration with The Energy and resource institute (TERI) and Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. It has been tested and certified by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India.
