Sundaram Clayton ‘s brakes division manufactures a range of vaccum brake equipment for HCVS, MCVs and LCVs. Its product portfolio comprises of air brake actuation components such asanti-lock brake systems, compressors, reservoirs, air dryers, controlling and regulating valves and auxiliaries such as hoses couplings and switches. The die-casting division manufactures aluminum die casting products. The company’s software design centre located in Chennai, TN designs and develops embedded software for WABCO. The company has three plants, two located in Chennai and one in Hosur, TN. The company’s brakes division customers include Eicher, Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland among others while Cummins, Volvo and their subsidiaries are the international clients for die casting products.


For FY07, the brakes division registered a revenue growth of 19% y-o-y while the export sales of the die casting division increased by 74%. In FY07, the company demerged the brakes business into a wholly owned subsidiary WABCO-TVS (India) Ltd. In FY07, Sundaram Clayton divested its entire stake in Harita Stocks Ltd in favour of another wholly ownedsubsidiary Anusha Investments Ltd
