South Asia LPG Company Pvt. Ltd. (SALPG pronounced 'essayLPG') is a 50:50 Joint Venture (JV) between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a navratna public sector enterprise and Total Gas & Power India (TGPI), a wholly owned subsidiary of TOTAL, France, one of the largest oil & gas companies in the world. SALPG commissioned a 60,000 MT capacity underground rock mined LPG storage Cavern during January 2008. Both the promoters are Fortune Global 500 Companies.
SALPG was incorporated on November 16, 1999, to develop, own and operate a 60,000 MT underground cavern storage facility at Visakhapatnam. The development of the project has commenced in November 2003 and completed in December 2007.
