The association with Caterpillar dates back to 1944, when Tractors India was first incorporated, and continues to date through the operations of TIPL, a 100% subsidiary of TIL, which, by dint of its extensive network, caters to the northern & eastern parts of India, and Bhutan – offering the complete range of original Cat® products and spare parts, as well as the Bucyrus range of surface and underground mining solutions.

Headquartered in Kolkata, TIL has four regional offices at Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, with an impressive network of over 80 branches across India. Manufacturing locations are based in West Bengal (Kamarhatty and Kharagpur) and Delhi NCR (Sahibabad), along with a state-of-the-art Component Rebuild Center at Asansol, also in West Bengal.
The Company has three wholly owned subsidiaries – Tractors India Private Ltd. (TIPL), Tractors Nepal Private Ltd. (TNPL) and TIL Overseas Pte. Ltd.
